Take a closer look- my recipe- 1 stamped image (pregnant girl), 2 embellishments (ribbon and brad), 2 die cuts (wine bottle tag and banners), 3 design papers (used in the banner)

Hope you like my inspiration ...so do join us for the challenge and show us what you can create with our recipe.....

Travalogue: a keepsake for the people on the go!!!

I love to travel and when the offer to make a scrapbook for one travel freak comes, I obviously could not say a "NO"....

Its made with no particular style-in short a total funk and freaked out album following no style definition and no technique restrictions ...nor a color combo etc....I have just gone crazy with whatever I thought I wanted to do and what I thought I wanted to include!!!

The first page is a pocket page with the ticket pouch...and the second page is for the map of the place traveled or say a quick click of the arrived airport or the hotel checked into....the first at the place being visited basically!!!

The pouch is big enough to store the flight/train tickets/boarding passes and itinerary....

The inside of the ticket pouch and the tag hidden behind the photo mat for writing about the new place!!!

Third page with a single photo mat and the next one for either a multi photo set up (can accomodate 3 mini pics) or can be used to write down what one is expecting in the  travel...what is he/she looking forward to...

More space for photos and journalling....the pink tag can be removed and attached back again. The blue tag is totally hand stamped...

The other side of the tag (again stamped)...the next page is a 3 pocket page of one 12x12 page to contain brochures/entry tickets or any small knick knacks or even bills...space to write what the pocket page contains is also given.

The Blue small page is actually a handmade mini envie and a pic can be put over it ....

The envie could contain small memorabilia .....and the next page is again a multi photo set up page with a tag for journalling.

A single picture page with a tag behind (see the picture below) and the next is a tag...

Another 3 pocket page for another set of brochures...maps....postcards...stamps etc...

Another handmade envie with space for a picture on the front!!!

The back of the envie and the next page is a OHP sheet on which I have stamped the border stamp to create a frame....

The photo mats/journalling tags  inside the envie...

Other side of the photo mats /journalling tags

I love this dollie stamp on the tag....

4 mini tags ....

2 horizontal 3 pocket pages for more memorabilia ....

A list of TOP 10 highlights of the trip-be it shopping areas....places to visit...eating joints etc...but the most exciting or most interesting Top 10 picks !!! The page is done with dylusion inks and then stamped with speech tags.

Another tag...

Last page to write a concluding note on the entire trip!!!

All tags provided as=re not necessarily for journalling...one can stick photos on them also...all pages are multi purpose depending on the need to the end user!!!

Do leave your comments and let me know what you think of this project :)

Miss Bluey

I wonder which is the toughest part....making the project or clicking pictures ..editing it and then transforming it into a blog post! Well, for me ...am lost when I have to click pictures and write about it...let me know the toughest part you guys face...

When I started crafting I thought Vintage was definitely a tough color tone to work with until I discovered that there was more to vintage than just black, brown , whites and off whites....to know more click here.  But as I tried vintage I realised that mixing colors ...finding the right contrast was a tougher job at hand until I had to work with monochromatics!!!

Yes, I found monochromatics to be the toughest ...not because you have to work with one hue but because you have to make sure that though you are using one hue (or max at times combining it with whites, blacks, greys) each and every element you use to show itself! The elements should blend with each other in totality but at teh same time should not lose their individual identity and their importance in that project! Phew...now that's a tough job!

I worked on a tag for a swap at 2 Shabby Sisters Studio and that's what am sharing today....its had to be a monochromatic 6x4 1/2 tag and my partner wanted a blue tag....so here it is...

The base is a cereal box ...layered with a lot of medical gauge cloth used to tie bandages....with a lot of  mod podge , dylusion sprays, acrylic colors (Teal, Turquoise, Light Blue, Cerulean Blue) and glitters! I allowed it to dry for about 5 hours till it was ready to work on....

My next thing while the tag was drying was to prepare the other elements I intended to use... I got this Itsy Bitsy flower and painted it with the same solution that I had prepared to paint the base ( mod podge , dylusion sprays, acrylic colors (Teal, Turquoise, Light Blue, Cerulean Blue) and glitters!) and a layer of blue net available with me from a diwali packaging I got from Balaji Telefilms during my job at Star Plus! It pays to save gift packaging at times!

The next thing was to take two beautiful grey colored Itsy Bitsy butterflies and paint them with the same solution (mod podge , dylusion sprays, acrylic colors (Teal, Turquoise, Light Blue, Cerulean Blue) and glitters!) ....Please remember the challenge was to have a monochromatic tag with the same shade alone....of course when I say same solution the proportion of colors varied so that I could create tones of the same hue! The quote you see is self made to match the theme....as I used a lot of blooms and the Tim Holtz Clock die at the background (hope you noticed that)... I first painted a white Fabriano card stock with my prepared solution (with the glitter) and then took a print out before I stamped over it with SU blue ink...and then die cut it and added the bling!

Closer look at the sentiment....

The medical gauge cloth mesh with the clock die.....

The left over of the Fabriano card stock I painted was used to die cut the flourishes ....

A flower created with the net and a brad added to hold it in place!

Added ribbons and laces to give it a final touch and am off to send it to my friend who stays in United States...woohooo....

Let me know what you think of the tag!!!!!

Its Tuesday Again:Anything Goes At Tuesday Alchemy

Its Tuesday again and while you go through this post I would have changed my status from single to "married" and will be on the train to my new train!!! Finally, the chaos and planning is over and a new life has started.....

Now coming to the DT  job!!...We at Tuesday Alchemy have the theme Anything Goes this week so just share whatever you made from cards to scrapbooks ...so candles to mixed media ...anything and everything....

For this week our sponsor is Sassy Studio Design

Now take a look at what I did for the challenge.....

Loads of textures and layers added....

Used my Kellogg's Box to make the tag...painted it with acrylic paints and added gauge bandage cloth with  Mod Podge to give textures...and again painted it...added a net on one side and colored again...gosh this really tried my patience for you have to wait for each layer to dry and then go to the next one...Phew!!!

Closer look to spot the layers and textures....

Lower half....

Upper half....

I guess one can see the layers better in this pic.....This Tag was sent to a friend at Ireland for a Tag Swap at 2 Shabby Sisters Studio

Hope you all like it and do hop to the Tuesday Alchemy blog and share your creations with us....The other DT's have also done a wonderful job at their DT projects so do leave them a line of love :)
