Reading Time.....Fabric Bookmarks

This was something really new for me...a fabric bookmark....I tried it for the first time for the Swap Central India Bookmark Swap ..as promised will post the swap pictures and do a post on that too soon.....but till then I replicated the fabric bookmark I sent for the swap in two different colors....So have a look

The top flowers are felt die cuts which are stitched together and stuck with the help of a hot glue gun to the base fabric....

 Closer look at the bookmarks....

The below ribbon has been stitched on all three sides and made into a small pocket.....and then I have taken a Cardstock and stamped "Back to School" image on it and inserted it ...it can be removed and any other note card ....gift card ...or any other sentiment card can be inserted...

I hope you like what I have done!!! Am submitting this for the Incy Wincy Designs-Make a Bookmark Challenge

Its a 10 Minuter!!!

Hey Folks ...am on a crafting trip....and am enjoying it..I was browsing through my blogger friend Piali's blog when I saw her entry for Pretty Pink Posh -10 minute craft dash....and believe me I was tempted to attempt the same  ...so here I am with my 10 minuter card.....to be more specific it actually took me 9 mins 45 secs..phew.....I just managed to finish I must say!!! But I did not follow their color palette so am not entering it up for the challenge...

Since I attempted playing with inches I selected a very basic and simple image....just stamped it with black ink and colored it with my Tombow Markers ...did not attempt too much of coloring techniques...just simple filling up of colors...and took a fabric tape with self adhesive backing to cut time....stamped the sentiment and cut it out....the card base is DCWV- The Josephine printed and pre cut cards collection ...so that saved me from cutting and sticking up a base PP ...

Hope you like it....am entering this for Jacksons Digital Expressions-Clean and Simple-Anything Goes

Reading Time....Corner Bookmarks

As said.....am on a bookmark making roll....I have tried Corner Bookmarks before ...but never been so decorative with it....they were plain origami folded paper to be used as bookmarks ....the best thing about these corner bookmarks are that they dont slip like the normal bookmarks...but yess they are not as sturdy like the magnetic ones for sure. But lets see what I have done...

Yess....I have a twist to the corner bookmark!!! I have turned the corner bookmark upside down.... the triangle part that everyone else decorates is the back in mine....and the broad square side which is the back for others ....I decided to make it useful....as that was a whole lot of space.....so I cut a few blank pages and two cardstock for front and back covers and punched a few holes and tied them in place with ribbons....and decorated the front cover to make it into a small note book and added it to a base corner bookmark!!!!

This is how it will hang on a book!!!......

Can you see the pages ...and make out the note book??? Yeah!!! You can open the ribbons and replace or add pages as per your wishes.....isnt it a lovely idea...I loved it myself....Now a lot many may ask...why a note book??? I have a habit of scribbling during my reads...I mean if I dont know a word...or an issue (when am reading on politics or religion) ..I like to jot it down somewhere and then do some research on it or look up the meaning in the dictionary. So I thought this would be an ideal thingy for other avid readers like me.....hehehhe

A closer view.....

There are two more corner bookmarks that I did ....but not with the same idea....I tried to personalise it....turning it into a small scrapbook page...yess...there's space for a small passport photograph to be fitted in!!! So have a look...

That brown and red blank spaces that you see ....are the ones where you can add the photographs.....

A closer look at them...
This is how they will hang at the corner of a book!!

 Top view....

Coffee is too integral to me....I mean I just love it ...and while reading its a must...so I decided on a coffee themed bookmark to give me company....I am entering this bookmark at the Incy Wincy Designs Make a Bookmark Challenge....

Hope you like what I have done....My efforts are always to challenge myself and think innovative ideas with the same projects so that I can create as much variety as possible even though its an age old done to death project!!!

Reading Time......Magnetic Bookmarks....

Making Bookmarks were never so much fun but after we conducted our Bookmark Swap at Swap Central India I have been on a roll...and I have made plenty of samples ...and most of them will make a place as a gift to my friends at Star Plus, Mumbai. They are avid readers and have been my support system during my lonely days in Mumbai where I lived away from family....had they not been there I would not have been able to cope up to the work pressures and the loneliness sometimes that city offers!!!

Enough of emotional blabbering and now for the reveal...hehheh...

These are magnetic bookmarks ...I had bought my first few magnetic bookmarks at Japan and Hong Kong where my brother resides....in the year 2003...and since then I have continued to buy them whenever I pay him a visit....and have been wanting to replicate the idea....my friends at Star Plus so wanted me to try this out but I could not do it then as the magnetic sheets where never available in Mumbai and I was not aware of a whole Crafty blogland who could supply me with the same....but now its there in abundance and am happy I can make them for my friends who have waited for it way too long!!!

The best part being this bookmark is that it will never drop off from your book!!!....Am entering one of these in Incy Wincy Designs-Make a bookmark Challenge.... and Scrapalicioususa- Welcoming Fall Challenge....the one I intend to send is below....

This was my second trial at the "Vintage" style (first one I sent it for the swap...photographs and post soon coming up).....but as you can see the bright and colorful person within me just could not see so much of brown so I added that ting of color with the pastel lilac felt heart!!!

The tickets have been stamped and cut and layered on dimensional.....the base background has been done by stamping on the PP and the edges are distressed....a vintangy washi tape has been stuck below!!

A Closer view....

Hope you like this .....and below are the close ups/individual shots of the other two bookmarks....

This is  my third attempt at vintage.....I first sprayed a whole lot of Copper Shimmer on the PP...and then stamped the birdcage....the effect was fabulous...as the stamped birdcage picked up the shimmer so well and uniformly that it seems as if the ink was a shimmer based one.......

I have added a fabric tape towards the end with self adhesive backing that I bought from my friend Rachana Patel..

The house image is stamped and colored with Tombow Markers....the clouds and the sun are punched out images...I have also punched the end border.....I was lucky to have that PP from DCWV ...All about me ...it just created the right ambiance with that sky and grass effect!!!

Two of the clouds are popped up on dimensional ....along with the house image....

Hope you liked my creation!!! Do leave your feedback and comments ....
